Update email signatures for alias in Google Workspace

This post is also available in: Português

Bybrand supports updating an email signature for a Gmail alias address. This means you can update the email signatures for the user’s primary account and all Gmail aliases.

Alias emails are secondary email accounts of one user. You can read more about that on the support page of Google.

This is an example of the Google Workspace admin panel:

The following part can be useful if you have questions about working with email signature updates at the alias addresses of Gmail.

Loading all account aliases

Before uploading email aliases to Bybrand, you need to import Users.

In this example, you can see the domain with three alias addresses.

Importing is done. You can now click on the Alias button to load all alias addresses. If everything is right, the aliases count in your primary domain will probably change.

Note: If you are using automation, you do not need to import the individual aliases in this section.

Note: important; please take a moment to read.

To update an alias email account, you need to add the email in the user account, as seen in the image below. If you only add the alias address in the Google Workspace panel and don’t link it to a Gmail account, the updating process will show an error.

After finishing all the processes, we now move on to the best part: updating the signatures. In the Bybrand paste signature area, the alias email addresses will show up with a tag.

As you can see in the example:

Alias address in Automation

Bybrand also allows you to import alias addresses into an Automation. See the full tutorial with all steps: Gmail alias into the Automation.

Descriptive names for email aliases

Gmail doesn’t let you set a custom name (or a more descriptive one) for the signature created or linked to an alternate address. So if the email alias is “sales@…”, that is the name that will appear for the email signature in the Gmail settings.
