Sync data – remove if not found

This post is also available in: Português

This feature described below will remove employees from automation if the user is not found in the user directory (Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra).

Typically, you’ll want to remove an employee if they no longer exist in your organization. For example, you removed the user from the Google Workspace Users Directory.

This option will do that for you. Note that this will not remove the user if they are only suspended in your organization’s directory; you need to remove them completely.

Remove if not found

You can find this option in Automation.

  • Click on an automation that is integrated with Google Workspace or Microsoft Login.
  • Then, click on the Employees menu.
  • Choose the Sync data option.

Example:

Example of the Sync data button.

Load the list of users related to a domain. Then you will see the option to Remove employees if not found.

Google Workspace removeif not found

This option is very useful for removing many employees when synchronizing data between Bybrand and Users Directory. Therefore, to remove only a few, let’s say 2 or 3 employees, it’s better to do the removal manually in the automation.

Here’s a video with a quick example of manually removing an employee.

Considerations

Does not work for suspended users

If the user is suspended in the Users Directory, it is still loaded in Bybrand. So this feature removes employees if the user is deleted completely.

Removed mistakenly

If the user is removed accidentally, you can re-add them by selecting the Add employees option.

Delay in data propagation

When you update a user field in the directory, it may take some time for the changes to propagate across services.

Some updates may take up to 24 hours to take effect.

If you sync data with Bybrand and do not see any changes, you may need to wait and try again later.
