{"id":2350,"date":"2021-02-26T17:48:55","date_gmt":"2021-02-26T20:48:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bybrand.io\/docs\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=2350"},"modified":"2025-05-27T18:44:36","modified_gmt":"2025-05-27T21:44:36","slug":"gmail-alias-departments","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.bybrand.io\/docs\/article\/gmail-alias-departments\/","title":{"rendered":"Gmail alias into the Automation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In this tutorial, you\u2019ll learn how to manage multiple email signatures for Gmail <strong>email aliases<\/strong> using Bybrand\u2019s <strong>Automation<\/strong> feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why use email aliases with Automation?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bybrand allows you to update email signatures for Gmail <strong>aliases<\/strong> individually, which works well if users only have a few aliases (e.g., 2 to 5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, when your organization has dozens of aliases per user, managing them one by one becomes impractical. For example, the main address \u201cdylan.posse@company.com\u201d might have several aliases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>dy@company.com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>cmo@company.com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>dylan@company2.com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>dylan.posse@company2.com<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In such cases, using <strong>Automation<\/strong> helps you manage email signatures more efficiently and in bulk, saving time and ensuring consistency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Importing email aliases with Automation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure your Bybrand account is integrated with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bybrand.io\/integrations\/workspace\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google Workspace<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We recommend importing aliases into a new Automation. You can do this by cloning an existing email signature, so both Automations use the same template.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> If you import aliases into an existing Automation that already includes the main email addresses, Bybrand will create duplicate entries. You can delete the duplicates afterward if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to import:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to the import section of your <strong>Automation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the desired users.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the box labeled <strong>Load all user email aliases into the class=\"wp-block-heading\">Updating email signatures for aliases<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the main benefits of using email aliases in Automation is the ability to update all related signatures at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To perform a bulk update:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the user list within the Automation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the <strong>\u201cBulk Update\u201d<\/strong> menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the email addresses and their aliases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>\u201cUpdate
